6 Days Uganda Rugby Tour and Gorilla Safari

Combine the thrill of rugby with the awe-inspiring experience of gorilla trekking. In this unique 6 Days Uganda Rugby Tour and Gorilla Safari in Uganda. Immerse yourself in the sport of rugby with local teams. And then venture into the misty mountains to encounter mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Day 1: Arrival and Pickup from Entebbe Airport

Late afternoon training session followed by first team dinner and a big welcome to Africa organized. It will be graced with best of African traditions, introductions and Briefing on how the week will be moving

Day 2: Community coaching Kampala

Chilled breakfast as you set your mind to a very important day for the tour. Where you will leave an impact in the community. After your breakfast head for a drive through the city Centre and depending on numbers, we will split into different groups that will visit the schools. And age grade programs around Kampala. Among the programs to visit, include a visit to Naguru Sports community and Acholi Quarters rugby club under the Phillip Wokorach Foundation a sport for development organization that uses rugby to promote the holistic development of underprivileged children and youth. Some of these programs are pushed to schools.

The team will have an opportunity to have exchange programs with the foundation through offering Girl child talks and coaching education, Skill training with the children for the foundation and coaching in schools around Kampala.  The rugby foundation by Phillip Wokorach, a Ugandan international rugby player based in France who bares the fruits of age grade rugby in Uganda, as a means to give back to his community he started up a foundation aimed to empower young disadvantaged girls  and talented  women athletes in Uganda to help them realize & achieve their dreams through rugby.

Other Sports programs to visit include Motion Youth Hub that gets athletes from the streets to play rugby and other sports. They also have projects that are used to empower youths with lifelong skills in tailoring, construction, Art, music Dance and Drama.

All groups will meet for Lunch and back to the hotel for relaxation and an evening BBQ pool party

Day 3: Fixture 1 Uganda

Breakfast in the morning and depending on team plan you can hit a modern gym this morning for strength & conditioning training and back to the hotel for relaxation and team preps.

Refuel with a healthy lunch before making your way to Fixture 1 at Kyadondo Rugby Club, a rugby union ground in Kampala, Uganda built in 2000. Facilities include main ground, Gym, a training/match pitch and club house. The ground is home to several club teams, among them Heathens RFC, a leading rugby club in Uganda. It has also hosted home games of the Uganda national rugby union team.  The fixture to be played will be decided based on level of competition required for the visiting team and will be planned together with the Uganda Rugby Union.

After the Fixture in the early evening head back to the Hotel for refreshment While setting up for a team Dinner and drinks with some of the players and officials from the other team. Good time for team bonding as you enjoy as a group after the fixture.

Day 4: Hotel Pickup and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After Breakfast, your driver will lead you for a long drive to western Uganda. The scenic drive will lead you to the renowned Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in southwestern Uganda. It is one of the most biologically diverse areas in Africa and is renowned for its population of endangered mountain gorillas. Thick, impenetrable forests, rugged terrain, and breathtaking landscapes characterize the park.  Upon arrival, settle into your comfortable lodge and take some time to unwind, preparing yourself for the thrilling Gorilla trekking experience that awaits.

Arrive in the evening in time to relax and enjoy the views of the park from your Lodge.

Day 5: Gorilla Tracking and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After preparing and receiving a briefing from experienced guides. Embark on an awe-inspiring gorilla trekking expedition deep into the heart of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The trek through the dense rainforest is an adventure in itself, as you navigate rugged terrain and lush vegetation in search of the mountain gorillas.

Once you encounter the Gorilla group, you will have a magical hour to observe these majestic creatures up close. Witnessing their captivating behaviors and familial interactions. It is an incredibly humbling and unforgettable experience to share a moment with these gentle giants in their natural habitat.

After the trek, you will checkout of the Lodge for a 2 hr. drive to the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi. One of the most naturally beautiful crater lakes in Uganda for relaxation, Island hopping, swimming, canoeing and a host of other activities. Lake Bunyonyi is located in Southwestern Uganda between the districts of Kisoro and Kibale. The Lake lies 1,962 kilometers above sea level. And has six islands surrounded on all sides by beautiful steep hills.

Day 6: Depart Lake Bunyonyi and Transfer Entebbe

As your Africa Rugby tour and Gorilla safari adventure ends, it is time to drive back to Entebbe. Where your journey began. The scenic drive will allow you to reflect on the incredible wildlife encounters. And unforgettable experiences you have had during your time in Uganda.

As you bid farewell to Uganda, carry with you cherished memories of its incredible wildlife, diverse landscapes, and warm hospitality, knowing that this adventure has left a lasting imprint on your heart. Safe travels, and until we meet again!
