Day 9:   Gorilla Trekking (min age 15yrs)

Today’s the day!  Your guide will already have booked you in so after a briefing from your ranger you head on foot to find your gorilla group. Your Gorilla trek will be an exciting journey along forested slopes that can be slippers, entwined vines, bushes and bamboo vegetation before you reach the Gorilla family. The time taken can be as few as 30 minutes to as many as 7 hours but coming face to face with the Gorilla is a truly humbling and emotional experience. Each group is allowed a maximum of 1 hour with the gentle giants observing and learning about their behaviors while taking best shots of photos

Accommodation: Buhoma Lodge

NB:

If you are sick you will not be able to visit. Gorillas are so closely related to us that they can catch all of our diseases but may not be so well equipped in recovering from them. Their safety is paramount.

A reasonable level of fitness is required for this trek.

Good walking shoes, waterproof jacket and long trousers are essential.

You are welcome to take photographs but you must use a camera where you can turn off the flash. Flash photography can freak out gorillas and you don’t want to be on foot near a freaked out 400lb gorilla.

After the trek you can enjoy a complimentary massage or just cosy up by the open fire.

Day 10:   Bwindi to Entebbe

After breakfast you’ll head off the mountains to Kihihi airstrip and your flight to Entebbe, arriving around lunchtime.
