Itinerary

Day 1 (01/06/2025)Depart Musanze for Queen Elizabeth N.P

Welcome to Uganda and welcome to your safari! It all begins here with an introduction to your guide and with a chance for you to ask any questions. Then it’s time to get out there and enjoy your safari. Because you chose Uganda, you have so much to look forward to. Time to get into safari mode as you enter Queen Elizabeth National Park, a savannah-dominated reserve known for its conspicuous populations of lion, elephant, buffalo and other iconic African creatures. There are also hippos on the pretty Kazinga Channel, a flat and narrow waterway that connects Lake Edward and Lake George within eyeshot of the snowcapped Rwenzori Mountains, as well as rainforests alive with chimps and monkeys, and crater lakes tinged pink by flocks of flamingo. Indeed, this is possibly the most biodiverse national park anywhere in East Africa.

Musanze
Rwanda’s third-largest settlement, Musanze (formerly Ruhengeri) is an agreeable highland town best known as a base for hiking and tracking gorillas in Volcanoes National
Park. Going on an evening game drive is one of the highlights of any safari. This is when temperatures cool, the light becomes softer and the wildlife begins to get active. Not only will you be out when the light is best for taking photos, but it’s also one of the best times of day for seeing the
animals

Day 2 (02/06/2025)Morning Game Drive, Kazinga Boat Trip & Transfer to Ishasha

Early Morning Game Drive, Queen Elizabeth National Park

Imagine being out in the soft, early morning light, wrapped in a blanket, just as the animals emerge from their night’s rest or from the shadows of their nighttime adventures. The world feels fresh and new on an early morning game drive, the sun has yet to beat down upon the earth, and it may end up being your favorite time to be out on safari.

Boat Trip, Kazinga Channel
We join a boat trip following the Kazinga Channel to its confluence with Lake Edward. Hemmed in by steep walls and set below the glacial Rwenzori peaks, Kazinga is home to large numbers of hippo, as well as elephant, buffalo, waterbuck and Uganda kob. Lion, leopard and giant forest hog are more occasional. The birdlife is reliably fabulous.

One of Africa’s few populations of tree-climbing lions is the star attraction of Queen Elizabeth National Park’s remote Ishasha sector. Lions aside, this atmospheric tract of moist grassland supports several large herds of buffalo, a wide variety of antelope, healthy numbers of elephant, and iconic wetland birds such as grey crowned-crane and shoebill.

Day 4 (04/06/2025)Bwindi Gorilla Trek and Transfer to Kigali

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Viewed as you approach the park boundary, the forested mountainsides of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park stand in magnificent contrast to the surrounding cultivated hills. Once inside the park, expect a sensory overload of sounds, smells and sights you could only experience in a pristine African jungle. Even without any wildlife, Bwindi would be an amazing place to visit, but the presence of a diverse forest fauna – most notably the endangered mountain gorilla but also 10 other primate and 350 bird species – has made this Unesco World Heritage Site one of Africa’s undisputed top destinations.

An unforgettable experience and encounter!

A great trip to a magnificent and friendly country, organized by a caring agency. Everything lived up to our expectations for a group of 11 people with children: the choice of accommodation, the food, the safari, very attentive staff as well as the rugby experience. We recommend without hesitation. Kind regards
